Basic Hosting from £45 + vat per year

Our basic hosting package is a breathtakingly low price of £45 + VAT p.a. (£54 inc VAT) but it’s anything but basic.  Included in the package is unlimited everything you could need: Unlimited data bandwidth, unlimited storage, unlimited mysql databases, unlimited email accounts at a whopping 10gb each, unlimited subdomains, free SSL certificates and more. Add the convenience of one-click installers for your favourite apps like Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, etc, and you’ve got yourself a market-leading hosting package at market-bottom price.  Our hosting platform is based in the UK, with 100% SSD servers, super-fast redundant backbone connections and all the resilience you would expect. We come “WordPress Optimised” with some great free caching tools and front-end speed tweaks to make your WordPress website spring into life.

The cherry on the cake, is that even with this crazy low price we still offer great phone or email support, or you can even pop into the office and get free face-to-face advice if you make an appointment first.

Our .uk domain names are cheap too at £8.50 + vat (£10.20 inc vat) p.a. or .com domains are £14 + vat (£15.60 inc vat) p.a. and we can support many other great new TLDNs like .clothing .boutique .construction and more.

If you don’t need any website content or email hosting then we can handle your domain and DNS, the DNS hosting cost is £10 + vat (£12 inc vat) p.a. in addition to  domain registration and this will cover web forwarding of your domain to another web hosting service such as google or wordpress.org hosting.  You can also forward all email to a 3rd party mail service, but if you need any kind of mailbox, email address filtering, or outbound mail authentication then you’ll need a basic hosting package.

Not just hosting, we have creatives too!

We have web designers who can launch you a new site, or support and modify your old site.  But that’s not compulsory so if you prefer to DIY your website then we can launch a CMS core for you to edit yourself, or you can just hit the raw code in the webcontrol panel and do it all old-school.  And we’re always here for support if you need it…. you don’t get that from godappy or harp internet!

If you’ve got a fully working site then we’ll migrate that into our platform for free, or use our designers to build a new and modern site for you. Our preferred CMS platform is WordPress and we love the DIVI theme. This very website is written in DIVI, and quite a high percentage of new sites you see are also running this versatile theme.  With WordPress you can modify your website yourself int he future without the cost of using a web designer for each update, so that saves costs and works wonderfully if you want to run a news page.

Our web-designers work to our normal workshop labour rates of £37.50 + VAT p.h. (£45 inc VAT)  We reckon that a basic portfolio site can be launched in around 6 hours work so that’s approx £225 + vat (£270 inc VAT).  If you need special features like databases, complex contact forms or eCommerce then this can increase startup costs, but get in touch with your ideas and we’ll try our best to help.  As with any design project, if you’ve got a good idea of what you want and decent wording, pictures and other content, then we can work to your instructions and give you a website to be proud of.

We host our own sites (obviously), as well as sites we design and some of our customer’s own creations. WebControl

WebControl will allow you to access your website services and control system settings.  You’ll need a login and password, if you don’t have these then please contact support to request a login.  There is a much bigger Knowledge base in the webcontrol panel that can help with any issues you might have.

In the WebControl page you can add and remove email addresses, email aliases, forwarding addresses, ftp accounts, and browse your web hosting files and features. You can also manage your SQL databases and add free SSL certificates for https access.  It is possible to do lots of damage to your website using this control panel so please be careful!

FTP

Using the FTP section of the WebControl panel, you can create additional FTP accounts for your staff and these can be unlocked using the simple FTP unlock form.

Email

Incoming Mail Server: imap.stackmail.com
Username: your full email address
You should use SSL/TLS encryption and ‘normal password’ authentication. If your email client asks for a port number, use 993

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.stackmail.com
Username: your full email address
You should use STARTTLS encrpytion and ‘normal password’ authentication. If your email client asks for a port number, use 587

Webmail

You can also access your email using our webmail system at https://webmail.alfindlay.com/. Login using your full email address and password.
